Privacy Policy

1. Our principles

We do not sell personal data. We do not sell your drafts, Learn progress, Play stars, CultIQ reading, questions to Steward or listening history.

We collect as little as possible. Desk works on your device without an account; we ask for an account only when you sign in, buy a plan or use AI review.

2. Desk drafts

Desk drafts and letter history are stored on this device by default. They are not uploaded to Orenay unless you use a feature that sends content, such as AI review, and confirm it.

Letter text cannot be restored from a device that has been wiped. Copy or export what you need before clearing local data.

3. Learn, Play and CultIQ on your device

Learn progress (including the astronomy tools), Play stars, CultIQ reading and audio playback position are stored on this device by default.

Play has no children’s leaderboard and no ranking against other children, and we do not keep play sessions as chat logs. Your CultIQ progress is private. Embedded widgets send anonymous usage counts only.

4. Audio (Hear)

Hear plays Orenay audio recordings where available. Otherwise, your device can read the text aloud with its own voice.

We do not sell listening history.

5. Steward

When you ask Steward something, your message is sent to our servers and to our AI provider (DeepSeek) to generate an answer. We use it only to answer you and keep the service safe, and we never sell it. We may count anonymous usage, such as how often Steward is opened.

6. Your account

You need an account to buy plans, keep credits and save preferences. It is not required to write on the free Desk or to read these pages.

When you create an account, we store what is needed to sign you in and manage your plan and credits. You sign in with email and password, and you can add two-step verification with an authenticator app.

7. Children and Play

Play is a culture space for families, not a social network. We do not rank children and do not keep play sessions as chat logs.

Parent lock: a four-digit code you set is stored in protected form on this device only. It unlocks parent tools, such as saving a postcard image or, for older children, a one-time friend link. It is not an account password and is never uploaded.

For younger children, activity stays on the device. A parent may save or share a postcard image — a picture for the family, not a public feed.

For older children, after the parent lock, a one-time friend link may be shared with someone you know. There is no public discovery, comments or leaderboard. Parents and guardians decide how the device is used.

8. Anonymous usage statistics

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve Orenay and its customs notes: market, channel, feature used (Desk, Learn, Play, CultIQ, Steward, Hear, widgets), whether a letter was copied, whether a buyer replied (yes/no) and requests for missing content.

These statistics never include your letters, drafts, improved text, questions to Steward, play sessions or audio. We do not sell personal data. Contact: privacy@orenay.cn.

9. Statistics and the free plan

The free plan and trial AI credits let you try Orenay. Anonymous statistics help us improve it — never by selling people, drafts or profiles.

Letter text stays on your device by default and is sent for AI review only when you confirm. We do not train AI models on your letters.

10. Third parties

DeepSeek: when you confirm AI review of a letter, or ask Steward a question, the text is sent to DeepSeek to produce the result.

Alipay: processes payments for paid plans and company deposits under its own terms.

Websites that embed Orenay widgets receive anonymous counts only. We never give your drafts to advertisers.

11. Your choices

You can clear Orenay data on this device at any time (see “Delete your data” below). This removes desk history, saved languages, stars, guide progress, audio position and the anonymous event log on this device.

You can ask to access or delete the data in your account by writing to privacy@orenay.cn. We handle requests in line with applicable law.

12. How to delete your data

On this device: use the button at the end of this page. Your data here is cleared at once.

Your account: sign in and open orenay.cn/delete to ask for deletion. We delete your account and the data linked to it within 30 days, and a notice in Orenay confirms your request. You can also email privacy@orenay.cn with the subject “Delete my data” from your account's email address.

This clears what Orenay saved in this browser: desk history, stars, guide progress and the anonymous event log. It happens at once.

Your account

Ask us to delete your account and the data linked to it: your pages, messages, notices and settings. We do it within 30 days. A notice in Orenay confirms your request, and you can cancel until that date.

Payment records are kept without your name, because tax law requires it.
